The BBC’s Terrific Scientific’s second investigation on Water concludes on 19 March so teachers who haven’t spotted this great campaign need to visit BBC Terrific Scientific now to get involved in the interactive resource.
Terrific Scientific aims to get primary school children (Years 5 and 6 in England and Wales, Primary 5-7 in Scotland and P6 and P7 in Northern Ireland) to discover their inner scientist. The BBC has teamed up with leading universities and other partners to come up with some really exciting scientific investigations.
Coming up is Time (22 March to 13 April),
Trees (24 April to-4 June) and Forces (30 May to 31 July).
Teachers and pupils are guided through the investigations and there are lesson plans, information on curriculum points and lots of ideas for delivering learning. Pupils can submit their results and their schools will appear on an interactive map on the Terrific Scientific website.
Some well-known BBC programmes will be linked to Terrific Scientific and Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, the popular science educator who recently appeared on Robot Wars in the ‘Battle of the Stars’, is a brand ambassador for the campaign.
